In Q3 2023, the top 5 maps and navigation applications in the Middle East showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Data provided by Sensor Tower highlights the trends observed across these apps.

Phone Tracker and GPS Location from Gentii Studio saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 70K in mid-August. However, downloads gradually declined to approximately 27K by the end of September. Despite a late entry to revenue generation, the app managed to earn around $3 in the second week of September. Active users grew steadily, reaching over 104K in early September, but slightly dropped to around 94K by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a consistent download rate, fluctuating between 57K and 81K weekly downloads. Active users showed a healthy upward trend, starting at roughly 1.7M and rising to about 1.8M by the end of September. Revenue figures were not reported for this period.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic from Waze experienced stable weekly downloads, with a slight peak at around 40K in the last week of September. Active users demonstrated a steady increase, peaking at approximately 2.5M at the end of the quarter. Similar to Uber, revenue data for Waze was not available.

Careem – rides, food & more saw a consistent rise in weekly downloads, reaching nearly 46K by the last week of September. Active users increased gradually from about 480K to over 481K in the same period. Revenue data for Careem was not provided.

Lastly, Bolt: Request a Ride displayed a stable download rate, hovering between 38K and 48K weekly downloads. Active users showed a slight upward trend, reaching approximately 218K by the end of September. Like some other apps, Bolt did not report revenue figures for this quarter.
